We are GA Telesis Engine Services (GATES), a growing international jet engine MRO located at Helsinki Airport, Finland, looking for a Team Lead to join our international Hospital Shop Visit team (SPAH), that handles quick-turnaround engine shop visits involving inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting.
As Team Lead, you’ll take ownership of assigned to your specific engine shop visits, managing them like projects from start to finish. You’ll also work as a direct supervisor for the mechanics on your team.
While your main base will be at our GATES facility, you’ll occasionally travel to customer sites to perform engine maintenance—whether that’s on-wing or off-wing, inside a hangar, or out on the apron.
Hospital visits are usually unscheduled and fast-paced, so we’re looking for someone who can stay flexible and adapt quickly. This is a two-shift role and may require working outside regular hours, depending on the SPAH Production situation.

GA Telesis Engine Services (GATES) is a full-service engine overhaul and repair station located at the Helsinki International Airport in Vantaa. GATES provides comprehensive commercial engine services including repair and overhaul services for General Electric and CFM International engines. GATES has been approved by more aviation authorities than any other company in Finland. The facility operates out of a 16 000 m2 building that houses an integrated test cell and back shop capabilities. Additionally, GATES has a Logistics center located in Vantaa, Aviapolis. GATES started in 2013 and currently has over 270 employees.

Responsibilities:
- Perform disassembly, assembly and condition inspections on engines, modules or parts
- Act as project manager for your assigned engine shop visits—plan disassembly and assembly work for the mechanics, and coordinate inspections, repairs, and material replacements with other departments
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with your team and other departments regarding the progress of your engines
- Act as a supervisor for your team, planning their work and supporting their development
- Handle marshalling & configuration control of your engines prior to assembly
- Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager
- Strong engine mechanic and inspector experience (7+ years) on CFM56 or CF6-80C2 engines heavy maintenance
- Good English language skills
- Ability to lead a team, support them in daily work and long-term development
- A solid understanding of the engine shop visit process
- Confident managing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to perform under pressure
- A high level of responsibility and accountability
- Solid computer skills and B driving license
- Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel
