Our Flight Solutions Group (FSG) is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist who is highly skilled at seeking surplus materials for strategic inventories and various supply programs. FSG Procurement team has the primary responsibility to source the aerospace aftermarket for various aircraft and engine components in As-Removed, Serviceable, Overhauled and new conditions to support the components needs of GA Telesis FSG (Flight Solutions Group) and other company divisions such as AMT (Asset Management Team) and GATES (GA Telesis Engine Services).

The daily activities of a Procurement Specialist always include researching options to buy materials from suppliers using inventory locator services and analyzing and responding to vendor push lists of parts for sale. It is imperative that vendor pricing data is logged into our system either manually or through automated means and the best options on the market at a given time for a particular component are sent to management for purchase review and approval.


Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement, the ideal candidates for this role will capture market data and create purchase orders for various components below fair market value from suppliers in volume is the ultimate goal of a Procurement Specialist.
It is expected that they will develop their own supplier contacts and relationships, physically work from a GA Telesis worldwide office location, and occasionally be willing to travel for vendor meetings, conferences or industry events.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform research, qualification, and selection of sources for brokered and rotatable / commercial aircraft engine or airframe parts 
  • Restock generally needed engine and airframe parts for various programs
  • Prepare, solicit, and evaluate competitive bids
  • Negotiate the best possible cost positions
  • Generate quotes directly to customers for rotatable and brokered parts
  • Coordinate with the Operations and Quality Manager to resolve documentation, inspection, quality, storage, and shipping issues with rotable / airframe or brokered parts.  Process returns for rejected parts
  • Issue purchase orders, follow up, and expedite brokered and rotatable / airframe parts until delivered to the final destination
  • Resolve material issues in conjunction with the sales or product line teams
  • Other duties as assigned  
Qualifications:
  • 1+ year in aviation-related field
  • Must have a strong interest in aviation 
  • Able to understand and apply basic financial concepts of supply and demand to day-to-day tasks
  • Able to take prior knowledge and apply it to similar circumstances in a fast-paced environment, good decision-making skills
  • Self-motivation, discipline, and great customer /internal focus with an ability to close deals
  • Superior communication and notetaking skills 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Must be a team player and willing to learn on the job
